The Makerspace 97058 News

David is our glass studio steward but he has a variety of interests including printing and wood carving. He's been helpful to this project in so many ways, from setting up the screen printing studio, installing our lampwork torch venting system, repairing equipment, and helping with the raku project. You look out the window and this neighbor is looking in at you :) You will find various forms of wildlife at the Makerspace, including lizards!

Each of our shops have stewards who are familiar with the procedures and equipment, and are a resource for our members. What is your favorite color? sage green What is your favorite craft? a tie between ceramics and crochet Why do you support the Makerspace? Because I believe that art should be accessible for everyone.

This is Anne using the screen printing studio to create work for her upcoming show at Art on Oak!

We did our first glaze firing this weekend in the big girl kiln, and it was pretty much a success! All of Bailey's things look great, but she's our ceramics studio steward and actually knows what she is doing :) I forgot to take a picture of all the stuff that came out, however you can see some of the work at our fundraiser on 9/20 in the silent auction and very special pie auction!

Let me tell you, it looks easier than it is!

We did an intro to mosaics as a part of our Summer Art Camp project, 2026.

We used a microwave with a kiln in it. Amazing!

Thanks to our volunteers Carolyn, Rhonda, David, Elizabeth and Kandy, we pulled up the old carpet and found this lovely old wood floor! We will put down a more solid flooring to protect and weatherize it. This room is on the back side of the Lodge building, we will plan on making it our fiber arts studio with sewing machines, weaving and spinning equipment, and more!
